Actor/director Bradley Cooper has reportedly been asked to star as Barry Gibb in the upcoming Bee Gees musical biopic currently in development.
Gibb and his brothers, twins Maurice and Robin, formed the musical trio in the 1960s after arriving in London from Australia. From there, the Bee Gees scored their first #1 hit in 1967 and played a massive part in the rise of the popularity of disco with hits like “Saturday Night Fever,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” “More Than A Woman,” “Tragedy,” “Night Fever” and more.
Anthony McCarten, who has made a name for himself with biopics of late including “The Darkest Hour,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “The Theory of Everything” and “The Two Popes”. The untitled feature hasn’t selected a director at this point. Cooper is currently starring in Guillermo del Toro’s noir film “Nightmare Alley”.
