Christopher Nolan’s New Movie Gets a Title, Main Cast Announced
Christopher Nolan’s next movie is officially titled Tenet. The project is still being kept tightly under wraps, but some new cast additions have also been announced. In addition to previously announced actors Robert Pattinson, John David Washington, and Elizabeth Debicki, Tenet also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Caine, Dimple Kapadia, and Clemence Poesy. The movie has been described as an epic action movie set in a “world of international espionage,” but concrete details have yet to be revealed.
Tenet will reportedly shoot in the U.K., India, Italy, Estonia, and other countries. It has been rumored that production will take place in seven countries in total. Christopher Nolan will be shooting with a mix between IMAX and 70mm, which has been his go to for a while. Let’s just hope he doesn’t end up damaging any cameras like he did while working on Dunkirk. Those are some pretty expensive pieces of filmmaking equipment, to say the least. However, if anyone can afford to lose a few, it’s Nolan.
Robert Pattinson has been in the news a lot lately with rumors swirling about him taking on the lead role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. His casting has not been confirmed for that particular project, but he has been talking about Tenet ever since it was announced he was officially on board. So far, he has given us some pretty intriguing nuggets of information. Pattinson says Christopher Nolan’s next movie is going to be the length of three movies. It’s not clear what exactly is going to go down during this time, but it will reportedly be pretty intense.
Robert Pattinson also says that the script for Tenet is the “craziest thing” he’s seen in years. While we still don’t know any real details just yet, Pattinson has been doing an excellent job of hyping the mysterious project and fans were already excited to know Christopher Nolan was working on something new. Nolan is one of those directors who just needs to announce a movie and nothing else and fans automatically sign up for the ride. If half of what Pattinson is saying is true, this is going to be one hell of a movie.
Tenet hits theaters on July 17th, 2020. Costume designer Jeffrey Kurland has joined the production after previously working with Christopher Nolan on Inception and Dunkirk. Editor Jennifer Lame is also working on the movie, marking her first time she has worked with Nolan. The director usually works with his long-time collaborator Lee Smith for editing. Now that we have the official title and cast, some storyline details should drop soon, though they will more than likely be pretty vague. Let’s just hope Robert Pattinson has some more details to give us in the near future. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to reveal the Tenet title and new cast additions.
