Dark Fate Poster Has Sarah Connor Ready for the Day After Judgment Day
Sarah Connor is the focus of the Terminator: Dark Fate poster. Paramount is dropping the first trailer for the long awaited sequel tomorrow, May 23rd, and the latest poster is preparing us for the sequel footage. Lucky attendees at last month’s CinemaCon were treated to some Terminator: Dark Fate scenes and the response was overwhelmingly positive, which led to some pretty impatient fans expecting a trailer to hit the internet directly afterwards. Now, the wait is nearly over.
“Welcome to the day after Judgement Day,” reads the official poster from Terminator: Dark Fate. Sarah Connor is locked and loaded as she gazes down a road with the sun set at her back. Linda Hamilton is back as the original doomsday prepper, looking just as badass as she did in 1991 when Terminator 2: Judgement Day hit theaters. As the poster implies, this sequel is ignoring everything that came after T2 in the franchise and is serving as a direct sequel, pretending all of that other stuff over the past few decades never happened.
Details surrounding Terminator: Dark Fate are still very much a mystery at this point in time. However, James Cameron is back on board as producer, while Tim Miller helmed the highly anticipated sequel. In addition to Linda Hamilton, who needed some extra push from Cameron to take part in the sequel, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back as the T-800. The iconic action actor has had a few health setbacks over the past few years, but he was more than ready to return to the Terminator franchise. Schwarzenegger even took a surprise drop kick to the back at a recent event in South Africa, only to get up and act as if nothing happened.
Newcomers to the franchise include Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta. Luna plays the new Terminator in the sequel. And while Tim Miller is directing Terminator: Dark Fate, James Cameron was around quite a bit during the development process and was reportedly very hands on with just about every decision made down the line. Cameron is currently immersing himself in the world of Avatar for the foreseeable future.
Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1st after a few setbacks. Fans are finally going to see what James Cameron had in mind to bring the franchise forward and as the creator, he should have a pretty good idea. When all is said and done, this is still a pretty big risk, considering all of the failed attempts before. It is definitely a smart move to carry on as if those movies never existed, but will the fans be able to remember and will this installment be better than those attempts? We’ll just have to wait and see. For now, you can check out the Terminator: Dark Fate poster below, thanks to Paramount Pictures.
