Veteran British actor David Bradley, who played Mr. Filch in “Harry Potter,” Walder Frey in “Game of Thrones” and William Hartnell’s First Doctor in “Doctor Who,” has revealed he’s joining Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion animated “Pinocchio” feature at Netflix.
According to the Polish outlet Na Ekranie (via The Playlist), Bradley spoke at a recent Comic-Con in Vienna and revealed he will voice the character of Geppetto. In addition, he apparently says other in the cast include Ron Perlman, Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, and Ewan McGregor.
What roles each are playing aren’t sure, we do know the project is said to be a very dark spin on the tale with ties to the rise of fascism in Italy in the 1930s. No official announcement of the cast has been made by del Toro or Netflix at this point and del Toro is currently busy shooting his noir tale “Nightmare Alley” so his “Pinocchio” is a good few years off.
