Far from Home TV Spot Shows Peter’s New Suit in Action
A brand new international TV spot for Spider-Man: Far from Home has surfaced online. We’re just about a month away from the return of Peter Parker to the big screen in his next solo Marvel Cinematic Universe entry. Tom Holland has been dealing with a lot since Homecoming, given the events of both Infinity War and this year’s Avengers: Endgame. But there’s no rest for those with great power, as great responsibility is just around the corner. Though, there’s still time to have a little fun, as we see in this new footage.
While many of the trailers and other footage we’ve seen so far for the movie have been pretty heavy, as it’s dealing with the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, this brief spot goes all in on the fun side of Spidey. We see how some Stark tech can make him a new suit rather quickly. We got some more brief glimpses of Peter’s blossoming relationship with Happy, which has been made possible in the wake of Tony’s sacrifice. There is also a pretty funny little bit at the end after Peter discovers some fancy, high-tech glasses, also clearly something utilizing his mentor’s tech. Overall, it’s classic, feel-good Spider-Man action.
That said, we know Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to be bringing a lot more to the table. Nick Fury needs to recruit Spidey for a mission while he’s on a European trip with his schoolmates, as there are few heroes available to handle these things. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is positioning himself as an ally from another version of Earth, effectively opening up the concept of the multiverse, in order to battle some very powerful beings. Though, Mysterio, in the comics at least, is a grand master of illusion, so can he really be believed? There’s are quite a few different plates spinning here.
The cast includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zendaya as M.J., Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds and Marisa Tomei back as Aunt May. Jon Watts, who helmed Homecoming, is back in the director’s chair for the sequel, working from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who also previously worked on Homecoming, as well as last summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
It’s already been a tremendous year for Marvel Studios, with Captain Marvel besting expectations to make $1.2 billion worldwide, to go along with Avengers: Endgame, which is past the $2.7 billion mark and is getting closer to the all-time record held by Avatar every day. This will be the third and final MCU movie hitting theaters and, beyond that, much of the future is a mystery, as the studio has remained tight-lipped about what to expect next. Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to hit theaters on July 2 from Marvel and Sony. Be sure to check out the new TV spot below.
