We now know when we will hear about what Marvel Studios has up their sleeves for their movie slate after Avengers: Endgame. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and everyone else at the studio, has remained tight-lipped in regards to what their plans will consist of in the coming years. Fans have been dying to know what movies are coming down the pipeline and when to expect them. Well, mark your calendars for Saturday, August 24, as Marvel Phase 4 (or at least some of it) is coming to Disney’s D23 Expo.

Once every two years, Disney throws a massive convention for literally everything housed under their media umbrella called D23. It’s happening this year and the studio recently announced the full lineup for the event. Marvel fans will be particularly interested to hear what they have lined up for their main stage at Hall D23, a 6,800 seat venue, on that Saturday. Here’s what they had to say in the announcement.

“The Walt Disney Studios will present a behind-the-scenes look at its blockbuster collection of upcoming films on Saturday, August 24, at 10 a.m. Fans will see what’s on the drawing board for the acclaimed filmmakers at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios and get a peek at the exciting slate of live-action projects, from Disney to Marvel Studios to Star Wars. As always, attendees will be treated to exclusive footage, special guest appearances, and more!”

They specifically made mention of Marvel Studios, which means we’re going to at least get some news on what’s coming in Phase 4. Right now, the only officially announced movie is Spider-Man: Far From Home, which hits theaters next month. Beyond that, many projects, such as the Black Widow movie, Shang-Chi and The Eternals, have managed to make themselves known, even though there hasn’t been a formal announcement. With any luck, Marvel will lay out their plans for the next few years during the event.

Recently, Disney updated their release calendar, which included eight release dates for untitled Marvel movies. The dates are set for May 1, 2020, November 6, 2020, February 12, 2021, May 7, 2021, November 5, 2021, February 18, 2022, May 6, 2022, and July 29, 2022. Black Widow is already in production and it’s highly suspected that will land on the May 2020 date. Outside of that, sequels such as Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are also on deck.

Another important note: San Diego Comic-Con is set for July. With Marvel set to present at D23, it’s possible that they won’t present at SDCC this year. For what it’s worth, the studio did showcase at both events in 2017. A different panel for Disney+ originals is set for Friday, August 23. The Saturday event is strictly for movies, so we’re at least going to learn something about the future of the MCU. Disney’s D23 is set to take place in Anaheim, California from August 20 to 25.
