Following the debut of his corrected appearance in a trailer last month, the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog” film has now begun its marketing blitz with several new TV spots popping up online.
One such TV spot also includes a joke about Dwayne Johnson, a joke in last month’s trailer that’s moved front and center here and has the speedy blue hedgehog asking “Where am I? What year is it? Is The Rock president?”. Released via the film’s Twitter account, they made sure to tag Johnson in the process.
Well now Johnson himself has responded, retweeting the clip and saying: “So crazy I used to love playing Sonic in college. Many moons later this… life can be so damn wildly unpredictable and surreal at times.” Johnson himself is currently out promoting “Jumanji: The Next Level” which opened to a much bigger than expected $60.1 million at the box-office this weekend.
“Sonic the Hedgehog” is set to open in cinemas on February 14th 2020.
