Tammy and the T-Rex R-Rated Gore-Cut Trailer Splatters Blood Everywhere
The late Paul Walker will always be best remembered for his time spent in The Fast and the Furious franchise playing Brian O’Conner. But there’s one movie in his legacy that many others would like to forget called Tammy and the T-Rex. The cheap Jurassic Park knock-off was originally released as a kid-friendly dinosaur adventure starring Denise Richards as Tammy. But it was intended to be a gore-soaked R-rated horror comedy. That version of the 1994 cult oddity is finally coming back to theaters, with blood intact. We have the trailer for this so-called ‘gore-cut’, which prominently features Paul Walker in high school, caught in quite the compromising position with another classmate.
A love story like no other (from the director of Mac and Me, no less!), Tammy and the T-Rex is a ’90s Disney Channel movie on bath salts, starring Denise Richards as the titular T-Rex love interest. Thanks to the Academy Film Archive, Cinepocalypse is able to screen the never-before-seen, never-known-to-exist, R-rated ‘Gore-cut’ 35mm print for the first time ever! The hotly anticipated world premiere of the coveted lost cut, giving you a sneak-peak at the carnage-to-come, is happening June 17th at Music Box Theatre, months before a 4K restoration of the film, sourced from the camera negative, is being prepped for theatrical & BluRay release later this year! Parental Guidance definitely advised!
It was also announced that the Adam Sandler comedy classic Airheads will be the closing night movie at Cinepocalypse. It’s all been building up to this! Twenty-five years after Chazz, Rex, & Pip shred our minds and held us hostage with squirt guns, The Lone Rangers are coming back to the big screen, with Airheads screening from a rare 35mm print, possibly for the first time since its initial 1994 release! Brendan Fraser, effortlessly sporting luscious metalhead locks to end them all, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler are three lovable buffoons on a mission to get their band’s demo played on the radio at any cost.
This spoof of heavy-metal culture (fitting seamlessly into our most metal year yet!) that also respects the vitality and pent-up passion behind it features a powerhouse supporting cast from the likes of Chris Farley, Chicago’s own Joe Mantegna, Michael McKean, Ernie Hudson, David Arquette, Judd Nelson, and so many more. Says director Michael Lehmann (Heathers, Hudson Hawk), who will proudly be there for our Closing Night screening.
“Airhead has always been a favorite of mine and was the most fun movie to make… ever! Can’t wait to see all three Lone Rangers and Lemmy rock the big screen again. Turn it up!”
