Seth MacFarlane’s adult animated sitcom “American Dad!” has been renewed for two additional seasons at TBS, taking the series through to its nineteenth season. The consistently solid ratings performer is reaching an audience of nearly 18 million viewers across all TBS platforms during its current sixteenth season and will hit its 300th episode shortly. Orbit Books has announced plans to reprint 500,000 books from Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy series “The Witcher” to meet high demand for the eight-novel series following the success of Netflix’s “The Witcher” series adaptation. In the days before the show’s release, demand for the books began to quickly increase and the last month or so have seen sales that “have been phenomenal in all formats”. [Source: Gizmodo]
Acorn TV has acquired the North American rights to Channel 4’s David Tennant-led four-part drama “Deadwater Fell” with plans to air it in April. The story follows a Scottish community that is torn apart by suspicion when a happy family is murdered by someone they trust. Tennant becomes a prime suspect in the investigation. [Source: Acorn]
HBO has set an April 12th premiere date for the ten-episode fourth season of its hit Issa Rae-led comedy-drama series “Insecure”. The series follows the friendship of two black women as they deal with their own real-life flaws while attempting to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences.
Netflix has released the final trailer for the second season of coming-of-age series “Sex Education”. Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey and Gillian Anderson return for the new episodes which kick off tomorrow (January 17th) on the service.
